Listen to a collaboration of writers from various backgrounds and experiences. Hear pieces from a Valley newspaper magazine writer who has written a variety of books share pieces to give you a taste of her talent. A long-time Bay Area newspaper writer, currently enrolled in Fresno State’s Creative Nonfiction MFA program. His pieces include searching for music, farming in the West to beautiful San Francisco Bay. A young lady inspired by a book that helped change her life for the better will read her reflection. A self-made author from Fresno made her dream come true by writing her own autobiography to share her story of survival.

Four writers have come together to share their poetry, and become more integrated into the world of poetry in Fresno. Some themes that all writers include in their readings are mental health and relationships. Other themes include: previous high school experiences, past love, present love, sexuality, climate change, bullying, trauma, and darker themes of mental health.

Four nonfiction writers will share work centered around considerations of the human body and connections to identity, culture, community, and art. Ruminating on everything from body-centered trauma to swimming, rock-climbing, and skateboarding, this group of writers will try to bottle-up and share some of the energy of their regular meetings and discussions about writing.
